Refund Policy
When refunds are considered, and how to ask.
Try before you buy
Qark includes a 3 day free trial with every feature, so you can check that it works on your Mac and suits you before paying. Qark needs a Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 14 or later. The lifetime license is a single payment, currently offered at a launch price of $5 USD. Depending on where you are, sales tax or VAT is added to that price or already included in it. The checkout shows the exact amount you pay before you confirm.
When we consider a refund
Because you can try Qark first, refunds are generally considered only in these cases:
- Duplicate payment or billing error. You were charged more than once for the same purchase, or charged an amount that does not match the total shown at checkout. We will verify this against the payment record.
- A defect that stops Qark doing its core job. A reproducible problem prevents Qark from performing its core advertised functions, you have contacted us, and we have had a reasonable opportunity to fix it.
- Where the law requires it. Any refund that the consumer protection law that applies to you requires.
When a refund is generally not available
- You changed your mind or no longer need Qark.
- You do not like Qark after buying it.
- The problem comes from a Mac or macOS version that Qark does not support, or from an incompatibility that was stated before you bought (for example, Apple silicon and macOS 14 or later).
Your legal rights
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under consumer protection law where you live, and we will respect them. This policy describes how we handle requests beyond those rights.
How to ask
Write to qark@vigantafili.com and tell us what happened. Please include the email address you used to buy and, if you have it, the order number from your purchase receipt. If it is a problem with the app, also tell us what you did, what you expected, your macOS version and your Mac model. Every request is looked at individually.
How much is refunded
A refund is based on the amount you actually paid, including any tax charged, in the currency you paid in. It is never based on a higher reference or comparison price that may be shown on a page. If we agree to refund only part of a purchase, we will tell you the amount.
What happens to your license
- Full refund. Once a refund of the full amount you paid is completed, the license for that purchase is cancelled and is not restored. Qark checks your license with our server when it starts and then about once a day, so a cancelled license stops working the next time your Mac checks in online. A Mac that stays offline stops working after about 7 days without a successful check.
- Partial refund. A partial refund does not cancel your license. If several partial refunds for one purchase together reach the full amount you paid, the license is cancelled as it would be for a full refund.
- Pending, declined or failed refunds. A refund that has not yet been completed, or that is declined or fails, does not change your license.
Payments that fail, and disputes
If a payment does not go through, no license is issued and you have not been charged for one, so there is nothing to refund. If you dispute a payment with your bank or card issuer, the license for that purchase may be put on hold or cancelled while the dispute is open. A license on hold unlocks again at Qark’s next check once the hold is lifted. A license cancelled after a dispute is not restored automatically: if the dispute is later reversed in your favour, you may need to enter your license key in Qark again before it works. We would rather solve a problem directly, so please write to us first.
How refunds are paid
Your payment is processed by Paddle, which is shown as the seller at checkout, and an approved refund is returned through Paddle to the original payment method. How long it takes to appear depends on your bank or card issuer, and we cannot guarantee a timeframe.
